Osoba Odra Foundation

The Osoba Odra Foundation, registered in Szczecin in 2024, is committed to protecting the Oder River with the aim of granting it legal personality.

As part of the Osoba Odra campaign, it organizes social actions such as petitions, campaigns, and public debates to promote the idea of legal protection for the river as a whole. The foundation works with the Movement for the Rights of Nature and the Tribe of the Oder and carries out projects such as “Rivers for the Oder” as well as educational workshops, marches, and artistic actions such as the film “Nature of the River.” After the environmental disaster on the Odra, it collected 100,000 signatures for the “Clean Odra” bill, which was submitted to the Sejm in 2025 to strengthen the protection of the river’s ecosystem.
